But what about our beloved back yard watershed, the Chesapeake Bay? When it come to car care, both manual and automatic carwashes add sudsy run off to the devastating pollution lurking below the water’s surface.
With the goal of conserving and recycling wash water, the nationwide Water Savers Program was designed to promote the health and cleanliness of natural water sources. Many professional carwashes from coast to coast are involved in the program and display environmental conscientiousness by adhering to its strict stipulations. All carwash businesses must use maximum efficiency spray nozzles and route all water discharge to a water treatment plant. Businesses must also use less than 40 gallons of water per wash and reclaim or recycle wash water for reuse. Locally, Maritime Autowash of Edgewater and Millersville took the initiative to reduce its environmental impact and joined the Water Savers Program. Maritime Autowash recycles nearly 100 percent ofits wash water and uses only biodegradable cleaning products during the wash cycle. As the weather gets warmer, it’s tempting to turn on the hose and pull out a bucket and sponge, but you can help save our Bay (and your time) by letting a member of the Water Savers program clean your vehicle instead. |

You have several outstanding employees at the Millersville Autowash, but two really stand out, Brad and Ian. They always know exactly what I need and they are so courteous and attentive. I was very impressed by the honesty
Just wanted to drop a note and tell you that during my last car wash at the Annapolis site, someone found a ring that was in my car and put it in the “drink holder area”. I did not even realize it had fell out of my purse. I was very impressed by the honesty of the staff and wanted to thank them.
